Calibration Due Date Tracking: How to Stop Missing Recalibrations

A missed calibration due date is almost never caused by anyone not caring about quality. It’s caused by a tracking system that quietly fails under normal, everyday conditions — a filter left on a spreadsheet, a reminder nobody set, a gauge that moved locations and got forgotten. It’s one of the most common findings in quality audits, and one of the most preventable, because the failure is structural, not human.

Why due dates get missed even in careful organizations

Single points of failure. If calibration due tracking lives in one person’s spreadsheet, or depends on one person remembering to check a register every Monday, the whole system is only as reliable as that one person’s week. Illness, leave, or simply a busy day is enough to let a due date slip past.
