- What’s it used for? Which parts require which gauges, and — just as importantly — which gauges are used across which parts, so a suspect gauge can be traced to every part it may have measured?
- How is it wearing? Is a limit gauge showing a wear trend that predicts it’ll fail tolerance before its next scheduled calibration?
- What’s its full history? Every calibration, every certificate, every technician, instantly retrievable — not reconstructed from memory or paper logs.
That last point — the ability to locate any individual gauge instantly out of a large inventory — becomes a real operational problem at scale.
